“ This place serves the best roast duck I have ever had in my entire life. I'm not even exaggerating. There are two Soon Lok outlets, one in Jalan Kenari which is reviewed by some block who only gave it 3 stars. Which is ridiculous. The roast duck at this outlet is amazing. The ducks are roasted daily using charcoal, which gives a full and hearty flavour. It is also marinated very nicely with generous amounts of fermented bean paste. The resulting product is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The fats are also very flavourful and it makes me wonder what they feed these ducks. My regular order is the duck leg rice, which is a generous helping of roast duck with rice. Ask for extra duck sauce because you will definitely be needing it. Soon Lok also offers a variety of cooked dishes, like vege and other meats, which is great for bigger groups. They also serve soup and the usual suspects include watercress soup, melon soup, ABC, etc. Price is quite reasonable, I can have a full hearty meal at about RM20. I've tried all sorts of roast duck, from the commercial shopping mall outlets (village roast duck) to London's Four Seasons roast duck in Chinatown, this is still the best I've had. It even beats Taman Paramount's Loong Foong roast duck in Petaling Jaya. Give it a try, you will not regret it. ”
